BNV : সমস্ত কথা শুনে রাজা হিষ্কিয়ও শোকার্ত হয়ে ভাল পোশাক ছিঁড়ে চটের পোশাক পরে প্রভুর মন্দিরে গেলেন|
KJV : And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard [it,] that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.
YLT : And it cometh to pass, at king Hezekiah`s hearing, that he rendeth his garments, and covereth himself with sackcloth, and entereth the house of Jehovah,
RV : And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.

ERVEN : When King Hezekiah heard this, he tore his clothes to show he was upset. Then he put on sackcloth and went to the Lord's Temple.

BNV : হিষ্কিয় রাজপ্রাসাদের তত্ত্বাবধায়ক ইলীয়াকীম, সচিব শিব্ন ও প্রধান যাজকদের আমোসের পুত্র ভাব্বাদী যিশাইয়র কাছে পাঠালেন| তারাও সকলে শোক প্রকাশের জন্য চটের পোশাক পরেছিল|
KJV : And he sent Eliakim, which [was] over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
YLT : and sendeth Eliakim, who [is] over the house, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covering themselves with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet, son of Amoz,
RV : And he sent Eliakim, which was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz.
RSV : And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the secretary, and the senior priests, covered with sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz.

ERVEN : Hezekiah sent Eliakim the palace manager, Shebna the royal secretary, and the elders of the priests to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz. They wore the special clothes that showed they were sad and upset.

BNV : এরা সকলে গিয়ে যিশাইয়কে বলল, “হিষ্কিয় বলেছেন, ‘এই সঙ্কটের দিনে আমাদের করা ভুল-ভ্রান্তি ও পাপাচরণের কথা স্মরণ করা উচিত্‌| কিন্তু অবস্থা এখন এরকম য়ে নবজাতকের জন্ম দিতে হবে অথচ প্রসূতির কোন শক্তি নেই|
KJV : And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day [is] a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and [there is] not strength to bring forth.
YLT : and they say unto him, `Thus said Hezekiah -- A day of distress, and rebuke, and despising [is] this day; for come have sons unto the birth, and power there is not to bring forth.
RV : And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of contumely: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.

ERVEN : They said to Isaiah, "King Hezekiah has commanded that today will be a special day for sorrow and sadness. It will be a very sad day, like the time a child should be born, but is not strong enough to come from its mother's womb.

BNV : অশূররাজের সেনাপতি এসে ঈশ্বরের অস্তিত্ব নিয়ে পর্য়ন্ত প্রশ্ন তুলেছে, অনেক খারাপ কথা শুনিয়ে গিয়েছে| সম্ভবতঃ আপনার প্রভু ঈশ্বর সে সবই শুনতে পেয়েছেন, হয়তো এর জন্য প্রভু তাঁর শএুদের যথোচিত শাস্তিও দেবেন| অনুগ্রহ করে আপনি, য়ে সমস্ত লোক এখনও জীবিত আছে তাদের জন্য প্রার্থনা করুন|”‘
KJV : It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up [thy] prayer for the remnant that are left.
YLT : `It may be Jehovah thy God doth hear all the words of the chief of the butlers with which the king of Asshur his lord hath sent him to reproach the living God, and hath decided concerning the words that Jehovah thy God hath heard, and thou hast lifted up prayer for the remnant that is found.`
RV : It may be the LORD thy God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will rebuke the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.
RSV : It may be that the LORD your God heard all the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke the words which the LORD your God has heard; therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left."

ESV : It may be that the LORD your God heard all the words of the Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke the words that the LORD your God has heard; therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left."
ERVEN : The commander's master, the king of Assyria, has sent him to say bad things about the living God. Maybe the Lord your God will hear all those things. Maybe he will prove the enemy is wrong! So pray for the people who are still left alive."

BNV : মহারাজ হিষ্কিয়র উচ্চপদস্থ রাজকর্মচারীরা যিশাইয়র কাছে গেলে
KJV : So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
YLT : And the servants of king Hezekiah come in unto Isaiah,

KJV : And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words which thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.

ERVEN : Isaiah said to them, "Give this message to your master, Hezekiah: The Lord says, 'Don't be afraid of what you heard from the commanders. Don't believe what those "boys" from the king of Assyria said to make fun of me.

BNV : আমি ওর ওপর ভর করার জন্য এক অপদেবতাকে পাঠাচ্ছি| তারপর দেখো, গুজবে ভয পেয়ে ও নিজেই নিজের দেশে ছুটে পালাবে| সেখানে আমি তরবারির আঘাতে ওর মৃত্যুর জন্য সমস্ত আয়োজন করে রাখছি|”‘
KJV : Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
YLT : Lo, I am giving in him a spirit, and he hath heard a report, and hath turned back to his land, and I have caused him to fall by the sword in his land.`

ERVEN : Look, I will send a spirit against the king of Assyria. He will get a report warning him about a danger, so he will return to his own country. And I will cut him down with a sword in his own country.'"

BNV : অশূর-রাজের সেনাপতি খবর পেলেন, তাদের মহারাজ লাখীশ ছেড়ে গিয়ে লিব্নার বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করছেন|
KJV : So Rab-shakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
YLT : And the chief of the butlers turneth back and findeth the king of Asshur fighting against Libnah, for he hath heard that he hath journeyed from Lachish.

BNV : ইতিমধ্যে অশূর-রাজ গুজব শুনলেন, “কূশদেশের রাজা তির্হকঃ তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে আসছেন!”তখন অশূর-রাজ হিষ্কিয়র কাছে আবার দূত মারফত্‌ খবর পাঠালেন| এই বার্তায বলা হল:
KJV : And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,
YLT : And he heareth concerning Tirhakah king of Cush, saying, `Lo, he hath come out to fight with thee;` and he turneth and sendeth messengers unto Hezekiah, saying,
RV : And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,

ERVEN : Then the king of Assyria heard a report that said, "Tirhakah, the king of Ethiopia, has come to fight against you." So the king of Assyria sent messengers to Hezekiah again.

BNV : যিহূদা-রাজা হিষ্কিয় সমীপেষু, আপনাদের ঈশ্বরের দ্বারা প্রতারিত হয়ে যদি আস্থা রাখেন, “অশূর-রাজ জেরুশালেমকে পদানত করতে পারবেন না!” তাহলে ভুল করবেন|
KJV : Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
YLT : `Thus do ye speak unto Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God lift thee up in whom thou art trusting, saying, Jerusalem is not given into the hand of the king of Asshur.
RV : Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

ERVEN : He told them, "Tell King Hezekiah of Judah these things: 'Don't be fooled by the god you trust when he says Jerusalem will not be defeated by the king of Assyria.

BNV : আপনি নিশ্চয়ই অন্যান্য দেশের বিরুদ্ধে অশূর-রাজের যুদ্ধযাত্রা ও তাদের পরিণতির কথা অবগত আছেন| এই সমস্ত দেশকে আমরা সম্পূর্ণরূপে ধ্বংস করেছি| আপনারা কি ভাবছেন য়ে, আপনারা উদ্ধার পাবেন?
KJV : Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?
YLT : Lo, thou hast heard that which the kings of Asshur have done to all the lands -- to devote them; and thou art delivered!
RV : Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?

ERVEN : You have heard what the kings of Assyria did to all the other countries. We completely destroyed them! Will you be saved? No!

BNV : এই সমস্ত জাতির দেবতা তাঁদের নিজেদের লোকদের বাঁচাতে পারেন নি| আমার পূর্বপুরুষরা, গোষণ, হারণ, রেত্‌সফ, তলঃশর এদোনের লোকরা এদের সবাইকেই ধ্বংস করেছিলেন|
KJV : Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed; [as] Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which [were] in Thelasar?
YLT : did the gods of the nations deliver them whom my fathers destroyed -- Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the sons of Eden, who [are] in Thelassar?

ERVEN : Did the gods of those nations save their people? No, my ancestors destroyed them all. They destroyed Gozan, Haran, Rezeph, and the people of Eden living in Tel Assar.

BNV : কোথায গেলেন হমাত্‌, অর্পদ, সফর্বযিম, হেনা, ইব্বার রাজারা? এঁরা সকলেই মরে ভূত হয়ে গিয়েছেন!”
KJV : Where [is] the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivah?
YLT : Where [is] the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah?`

BNV : দূতদের কাছ থেকে এই চিঠি নিয়ে পড়ার পর হিষ্কিয় প্রভুর মন্দিরে গিয়ে প্রভুর সামনে চিঠিখানা মেলে ধরলেন|
KJV : And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
YLT : And Hezekiah taketh the letters out of the hand of the messengers, and readeth them, and goeth up to the house of Jehovah, and Hezekiah spreadeth it before Jehovah.

BNV : তারপর তিনি প্রভুর কাছে প্রার্থনা করে বললেন, “প্রভু করূব দূতদের মধ্যে আসীন ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর আপনি এই পৃথিবীর সমস্ত ভূ-ভাগ, সমস্ত দেশেরই নিযামক| স্বর্গ ও পৃথিবী আপনারই হাতে গড়া|
KJV : And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD God of Israel, which dwellest [between] the cherubims, thou art the God, [even] thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.
YLT : And Hezekiah prayeth before Jehovah, and saith, `O Jehovah, God of Israel, inhabiting the cherubs, Thou [art] God Himself -- Thyself alone -- to all the kingdoms of the earth: Thou hast made the heavens and the earth.
RV : And Hezekiah prayed before the LORD, and said, O LORD, the God of Israel, that sittest upon the cherubim, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.

ERVEN : Hezekiah prayed before the Lord and said, "Lord, God of Israel, you sit as King above the Cherub angels. You alone are the God who rules all the kingdoms on earth. You are the creator of heaven and earth.

BNV : প্রভু, অনুগ্রহ করে আমার কথা শুনুন, চোখ খুলে এই চিঠিখানা দেখুন| কি ভাবে সন্হেরীব জীবন্ত ঈশ্বরকে অপমান করেছেন তা শুনুন|
KJV : LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.
YLT : Incline, O Jehovah, Thine ear, and hear; open, O Jehovah, Thine eyes, and see; and hear Thou the words of Sennacherib with which he hath sent him to reproach the living God.
RV : Incline thine ear, O LORD, and hear; open thine eyes, O LORD, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, wherewith he hath sent him to reproach the living God.

BNV : প্রভু ইহা সত্য অশূর-রাজ এসমস্ত দেশ ধ্বংস করেছেন|
KJV : Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,
YLT : `Truly, O Jehovah, kings of Asshur have laid waste the nations, and their land,
RV : Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands,
RSV : Of a truth, O LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste the nations and their lands,

ERVEN : It is true, Lord. The kings of Assyria did destroy all those nations.

BNV : তারা তাদের মূর্ত্তিসমূহকে আগুনে ছুঁড়ে ফেলেছেন এসবই সত্যি কথা| কিন্তু সেই সব মূর্ত্তি তো আসলে মানুষের বানানো কাঠ এবং পাথরের পুতুল মাত্র ছিল| য়ে কারণে অশূর-রাজ ওদের ধ্বংস করতে পেরেছিলেন|
KJV : And have cast their gods into the fire: for they [were] no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
YLT : and have put their gods into fire, for they [are] no gods, but work of the hands of man, wood and stone, and destroy them.

ERVEN : They did throw the gods of those nations into the fire. But they were not real gods. They were only wood and stone—statues that people made. That is why the kings of Assyria could destroy them.

BNV : তুমি তো তাই বললে| কিন্তু প্রভু যা বলেন তা তুমি তোমার দূরদেশে শোনোনি| “এসবই আমার (ঈশ্বর) পূর্ব পরিকল্পিত| সেই অনাদি-অনন্তকাল থেকে আমিই সব ঠিক করে ঘটিয়ে চলেছি! য়ে কারণে তুমি একের পর এক শক্তিশালী দেশ ধ্বংস করে, তাদের পাথরের ভগ্নস্তূপে পরিণত করতে পেরেছ|
KJV : Hast thou not heard long ago [how] I have done it, [and] of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities [into] ruinous heaps.

KJV : Because thy rage against me and thy tumult is come up into mine ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.

You will harvest your crops and have plenty to eat. You will plant grapevines and eat their fruit. You will plant vineyards and eat the grapes from them.

KJV : And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall yet again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
YLT : And it hath continued -- The escaped of the house of Judah That hath been left -- to take root beneath, And hath made fruit upward.

KJV : Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.

KJV : By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.

BNV : এক দিন তিনি যখন তাঁর ইষ্টদেবতা নিষ্রোকের মন্দিরে পূজা করছিলেন, সে সময় তাঁর দুই পুত্র অদ্রম্মেলক ও শরেত্‌সর তাঁকে তরবারির আঘাতে হত্যা করে অরারট দেশে পালিয়ে গেলে, তাঁর আরেক পুত্র এসর-হদ্দোন তাঁর জায়গায় নতুন রাজা হলেন|
KJV : And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esar- haddon his son reigned in his stead.
YLT : and it cometh to pass, he is bowing himself in the house of Nisroch his god, and Adramelech and Sharezar [his sons] have smitten him with the sword, and they have escaped to the land of Ararat, and Esar-Haddon his son reigneth in his stead.
RV : And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esar-haddon his son reigned in his stead.

ESV : And as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer, his sons, struck him down with the sword and escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his place.
ERVEN : One day Sennacherib was in the temple of his god Nisroch, worshiping him. His sons Adrammelech and Sharezer killed him with a sword and ran away to Ararat. So his son Esarhaddon became the new king of Assyria.
